We’re All In this Together

I don’t know about you but I’ve really enjoyed watching the Olympics track and field. The highlight for me was watching fellow Australian Ash Moloney in the last event of the Decathlon, the 1500m run. To place third, he had to beat two other particular athletes or not finish more than 9 seconds behind them. On the last lap of the race, it looked like Ash had nothing left, but his teammate and mentor Cedric Dubler ran beside him and scream at him to keep going! It was amazing to watch.
That push and support from his fellow teammate earned him a Bronze Medal. The first time Australia has won a medal in the Decathlon!
This moment reminded me how important it is to have someone to help and support you, especially during the current situation. Things are seeming to fall apart. No one really knows what life will look like in a month. Or even a week. Uncertainty prevails.
Some of you reading this will have lost your job. Or had your hours cut back. Or had your income drop. It’s scary. It’s hard. I understand because, trust me, I’ve been there.
Who can you turn to?
Who turns to you?
We need connection now, more than ever. Take a moment to reach out to someone you love. Even if you haven’t spoken to them in a while.

Life In Lockdown

In March 2020 Australia went into lockdown, businesses were shut down, ours included and we had to adapt, so we took our members online or outdoors. It seems so long ago now, and not only did we survive it, but we thrived and came out stronger.
Fast forward to July 2021 and we are back in lockdown but this time things are a little different, I can’t leave my area as it has been labelled a hotspot, which becomes a problem due to the fact Live Well is in a different local government area (LGA).

“Every decision we make and don’t make leads you to the point you are at now and waiting for the best time may never come and an opportunity is lost. Make a move that will lead you towards the direction you want to be in a year from now and you won’t regret it.”

Quit, Pivot or Thrive?

When things aren’t working out, you can easily blame or look for sympathy from others. Your emotions then send you on a rollercoaster which can translate to wrong decisions.

It would be best to learn how to navigate through the rollercoaster ride so you make the right decisions. This will involve shifting your mindset. Only then will you thrive.

Last year during the nationwide lockdown, one of our members went through this exact process. It resulted in a dramatic transformation. She shifted her mindset and thrived. You can watch Penny’s amazing story below.

I am sure it will empower you during these frustrating times.

Stay committed, healthy and have fun!

Embrace it all. Because it doesn’t get easier the further you progress. The problems and challenges get bigger, but you get the opportunity to continue growing stronger and more powerful with every turn.
