Mother’s Day Message from Sash Tattoo

We have come about our yearly reminder to show love to the most important woman in our lives; yes, it’s Mother’s Day! Whether she was the one who went through the pain and likely destruction of her own body to bring you into this world, or the one who stepped up to the plate to raise you; the woman deserves a medal. So, use this time to make sure the words and affections you may not show as often as you should, are portrayed. Whether you’re planning to get her some overpriced flowers, chocolates, jewellery, make sure you do some cleaning as well! By far the best gift will be to get matching tattoos with mum. Grab your mum a gift voucher for something special, something you will share together forever.

And to my own mother, though I’ll never fully comprehend the sacrifices you’ve made to give us the life we are blessed to have, I thank you eternally.

Fat loss and what YOU need to do!

Losing fat is not easy. If it were easy everyone would be fit and healthy. We are all busy individuals in this crazy world. Everyone needs to work, so how come some people do it better than others? The issue that comes up is human habit and comfortability. Keep in mind that this does not apply to everyone, some people work 40-50 hours/week which makes it a lot harder to get into the gym, however, you can still make it work!

It is easy to sit on the couch and watch television whilst eating ice cream, on the other hand, it requires huge mental fortitude and hard work to bring your heart to 170 BPM on the assault bike after a long day of work (the positives to this is better sleep and appetite i.e. the more you exercise the more you can eat! If you love food like myself, this is a massive bonus). The first couple of steps towards fat loss include:

Make time. Just do something! 10-15 minutes of jogging/walking, a little bit of yoga/balancing work, cooking healthy meals. Actively working towards better health and your goals.

Recreation

Training for climbing.

In any physical activity, the more controllable ranges of motion available will mean you will possess more movement opportunities. In this case in the world of rock climbing, if you don’t have enough hip mobility to step to the next foot hold on a scattered rock face then you don’t have that option to use that opportunity, and you’ll need to figure out another route, which can result in unnecessary energy, strength and time spent.

Marianne conquered her fear of returning to lead climbing that happened because of her consistent effort in the gym developing an overall increase in general strength and mobility. Now, our current program has become more specific towards the demands of climbing in order for her to be even more successful in facing more difficult climbs.

The possibilities become endless when we aim to continue to expand our current capabilities, this applies not only in the gym, but to everything we do in life.

IT’S NOT JUST BUSINESS, IT’S PERSONAL

For 15 years I’ve been focused on helping local working mums, dads, business owners and seniors improve their health. Inspiring them to do the things they thought were impossible, like run a marathon, complete a spartan race or hike a mountain.
In the past 3 years, and especially this past year with our growing family and the world pandemic, the work we do has evolved to mean so much more. Now I’m a husband and Dad. Those roles I get to play mean the world to me.
And I have a whole new level of awareness and understanding around what it means to be a busy parent, juggling the roles we play at home, at work, and doing our best to take care of ourselves and those we get to love on the journey.
It’s hard. Anyone who tells you they’ve got it all figured out isn’t being honest with you or themselves. Every day we face new challenges and get the opportunity to grow and be transformed into something more… if we’re willing to accept the gift of strength that meeting those challenges brings us.
The best is yet to come.
