Major new COVID-19 support package to help tens of thousands of businesses across NSW

The NSW Government today announced a major new grants package and changes to the Dine & Discover program to help tens of thousands of small businesses and people across NSW impacted by the current COVID-19 restrictions.

The package includes grants of between $5000 and $10,000 for small businesses, payroll tax deferrals for all employers, an extension of the Dine & Discover program to 31 August and the ability for people to use Dine & Discover vouchers for takeaway delivered directly to their home by the venue itself.

Three different grant amounts will be available for small businesses depending on the decline in turnover experienced during the restrictions – $10,000 for a 70 per cent decline, $7000 for a 50 per cent decline and $5000 for a 30 per cent decline.

Businesses will be able to apply for the grants through Service NSW from later in July and will need to show a decline in turnover across a minimum two-week period after the commencement of major restrictions on June 26.

Rewrite the Night’ Grants now open

Georges River Council is supporting small local businesses with $40,000 in grant funds to boost and transform our nightlife.

Local businesses can apply now for a ‘Rewrite the Night’ grant that can be used to activate their business at night. Grant categories include live music, arts, performance and lighting.

You may be a daytime business that wants to trade later at night with a different offering. This could be a florist by day leasing its site for an art exhibition at night or a coffee shop by day operating as a small bar by night.

To apply for a ‘Rewrite the Night’ Grant and for eligibility information, visit https://lnkd.in/g9tgzUV

Grant applications are open until Sunday 6 June.
