Georges River Council is committed to the sustainable management of recycling within Industrial Estates and Centres. There are many reasons why recycling is important for the environment, the economy and the community. It reduces the depletion of natural resources, saves on energy use and is less expensive than using new materials.
Council can provide a 240L yellow lidded recycling bin, with multiple services to commercial premises upon application. The fee for this service is currently $275.83 per annum, pro rata and is levied to the property owner through the rates notice.
The following items can be placed in the yellow lidded recycling bin:
- Paper and cardboard
- Glass bottles and jars
- Milk and juice cartons
- Plastic soft drink bottles
- Milk, shampoo and detergent bottles
- Aluminium and steel cans
- Aerosol cans
If your business is interested, please arrange for the owner of the property to complete and sign the Trade Waste & Recycling Application Form which can be found on our website www.georgesriver.nsw.gov.au and return to Council via email firstname.lastname@example.org
There are also several different recycling services available from organisations and licensed recycling contractors for collection services for larger volumes of recyclable materials or more frequent collections. Private contractors can offer collection services for bulk cardboard recycling, food waste collections, glass collections and may be able to provide other custom services if required. Business owners and/or managers operating within the Georges River Local Government Area are encouraged to contact private contractors to discuss recycling and/or waste management needs in order to select a service that meets individual needs. Planet Ark’s Recycling Near You website is a valuable tool that can connect businesses with suitable contractors (link below).
